Location: Melbourne CBD

Start Date: ASAP

Engagement Type: Labour hire

Contract Length: 2 months with possibility of an extension (further 3 months)

Pay: $61-$71 per hour + super

Hours: Full-time (38.0 hours per week)

Overview of the role:

The HR Program Officer will lead a program of work. This role will make a critical contribution to the ongoing success of the Agencyt’s Corporate Operations systems through developing and implementing a range of workflows to support high volume critical functions. With a customer centric focus, you will provide effective outcomes to create a positive experience.

Key responsibilities also include providing high-quality, generalist HR advice on a wide range of matters, including employment conditions, recruitment and performance management.

The HR Program Officer is expected to work collaboratively across the Agency, leveraging collective expertise to achieve organisational objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide technical support for the ongoing implementation of Agency’s People system encompassing areas such as salary payments, deductions, performance development, probation, recruitment and other related payroll and recruitment processes
  • Build and maintain strong, collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including senior leaders, to provide accurate and timely advice on HR policies, procedures, legislation, and agreements, ensuring alignment with organisational objectives and compliance requirements.
  • Actively model the public sector values, contributing to a values-based culture through exemplary behaviour
  • Additional duties may be assigned provided they align with the capacity, qualifications and experience typically expected from employees occupying positions at this level.

key Capabilities:

  • HR Expertise: Demonstrated technical understanding of HR functions, principles and conditions of employment to facilitate effective payroll system and workflow processes.
  • Extensive systems knowledge in maintaining HR systems.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills: High level conceptual, analytical, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyse complex issues and risks. Seeks all relevant information for problem solving and investigates or probes for the facts. Liaises with stakeholders and analyses issues from different perspectives to draw sound inferences from the information available

Experience and qualifications

The successful candidate will have:

  • A qualification in related field, or equivalent experience

The following will be highly regarded:

  • Experience working in a State or Commonwealth Government jurisdiction.
  • Experience with SAP Success Factors
